Survey Apps That Pay You

Get Paid For Filling Out Surveys

Apps that pay you are a very convenient way to make some supplemental income in your spare time. They also help you to offset the cost of owning a smartphone and paying for internet. Here is a another list of apps that pay you, this time the focus is on getting paid for surveys. Although some apps are more lucrative than survey apps, especially Field Agent and Checkpoints, I believe surveys are a really good way to boost your online income with very little effort. The biggest advantage of using survey apps over typical online surveys is that the surveys from apps tend to be very short. It is easy to get burned out pretty quick with online surveys but the surveys from survey apps are usually the length of polls and pay amazingly well compared to the time they take to fill out. All of these apps are free for you to use and I have personally tested and been paid from each of them at least once, I recommend them all.

Surveys On The Go

Surveys On The Go is an excellent survey app that pays you between  for each short survey you fill out. It is available for iPhone®, iPad®, and Android. Surveys can pay as much as $5 and as little as .25 but most of the ones I have taken so far have been $1. I have been using Surveys On The Go for just a couple of months now and so far I have been paid the $10 minimum 1 time. They paid me directly to my PayPal account right away, they do pay by electronic check so Paypal holds the funds a few extra days.

So far I have only had 2 surveys that I didn’t qualify for out of 13, they don’t tell you that you don’t qualify ahead of time but the time to fill out a survey is much less than qualifiers at other sites . They just announced in the last few days that there should now be at least 1 survey every week. It is important to check this app often for new surveys because the slots fill up  fast and push notifications on phones are not always the most reliable. At this time there is no referral program but the company has told me they are working on one. Here is the App Store℠ and a link to the site:

Survey.com Mobile App

The Survey.com Mobile App is paid survey app for Android, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. I have been using it for a few months and I have been paid $8.00 directly to my PayPal. The minimum amount to get paid is $7.50.

There are generally a large amount of mini surveys to take and they usually pay between .10 to .25 but the can pay up to $10. Sometimes there are surveys that are free but they are generally qualifiers to get higher paying surveys. Surveys are divided up by category and you can take as many as you want. They are usually available for several days once they are posted in the app. Here is a link to the Survey.com website.

NPolls

Npolls is another good app that pays you to answer polls. The results of these polls are then used to provide data for Magic Numbers Magazine available at iTunes Newsstand. The polls are mini surveys that are usually between 10- 15 questions long and they are about a variety of questions. You can get NPolls on your iPhone, iPad,  iPod Touch, Android, or Windows Phone 7.  So far I have been using NPolls for the last couple of months  and  have answered 91 polls, I have been paid $10.00 Directly to my Paypal.

You are generally paid .20 for each poll that you answer but you can be paid more for polls about apps that require a download. When you reach the minimum payment of $10 you are paid automatically by through Paypal. The payments are sent in batches so it can take a few days to receive payment. It is important to make sure that you log in to the website to give them your Paypal email, you won’t get paid until you do. At this time there is no referral program but the company has told me they will include one in the next update. Here is the website and the iTunes link: http://www.npolls.com/
Here is the link to download Npolls For Android for free  in the Google Play Store.

Here is the  Npolls Windows Phone 7free download in the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Thanks for checking out my list of survey apps that pay you. I will add more as I am able to test more and they are worthy of a recommendation. In the mean time please check out this link for an excellent site with more information about these apps and many more apps that pay you.

The Best iPhone, iPad, and iTouch Protection

Protecting Your iPhone

Do I Need To Buy Apple Care?

My very first smartphone was an iPhone 3g I got as a Christmas gift from my mom in 2008. When I received it I had absolutely no clue how to keep it in decent shape. She also got me a $50 leather iPhone case from AT&T to go with it but the case turned out to be very flimsy and fell apart long before the first year was up on my contract. After that case disintegrated, I did some research about the best ways to protect my iPhone. Luckily, my friend and personal computer geek Tom, talked me into reluctantly purchasing
AppleCare, that was the best decision I could have made. The factory warranty from Apple only lasts for the first year of your 2 year contract. It cost me $69(one time) in 2009 but I ended up returning my iPhone3g for replacement a total of 4 times without any extra charge. I got 2 iphones with bad WiFi, one with faulty wiring, and one that didn’t work right when they gave it to me. Without Apple Care it would have cost several hundred dollars to for each replacement phone. I usually avoid any kind of extended warranty or insurance that isn’t necessary but this is one I think is critical. There are a bunch of extra benefits including free phone support and free replacement of the power cords and headphones that wear out. Now I have an iPhone 4 and I will be buying AppleCareagain.

Protecting Your iPhone From Scratches And Damage

How do I Protect My iPhone Screen?

Every time I went in for a replacement the Apple “Geniuses” filled out a form indicating the shape of the iPhone before replacing it. The first iPhone I had was in really rough shape by the time it needed to be replaced. I was lucky because the WiFi went out making it mechanically defective, even though my screen was damaged and cracked in multiple places, they replaced the iPhone at no charge because I had Apple Care. When I got the new iPhone I was grateful to have a second chance to have a nice new looking phone again. I immediately purchased an invisibleSHIELD by Zagg, they are amazing. The invisibleSHIELD is made of the same material that is used to coat military helicopter blades to protect them from high speed damage. It uses Nano-Memory technology to self-heal and resist abrasion. I found that it kept my iPhone screen in mint condition, free from wear and tear, while also maintaining excellent visibility. The invisibleSHIELD comes with a lifetime replacement warranty, and is available for most devices including: iPhone, iPhone3g and 3gs, iPhone4 and 4s, iTouch, iPad, iPad2, Blackberry, Android, and Motorola Droids to name a few. I found the installation to be pretty simple and it comes with everything you need to do it right. I have used this to protect every iPhone I have had since the second one and they have all had perfect screens the entire time I have owned them. You have the option of getting a full body wrap or just the screen. I have personally always opted for just the screen and used a case for the body.

How Do I Choose The Best Case?

Ultimately the best case for your phone is going to be the one you like carrying around and having people see all the time. Some styles are more durable and protect much better than others. There are so many different cases to choose from, don’t let the prices fool you. A very expensive case can be poor quality just like a cheap case. After my original $50 black leather case from AT&T failed in the first year, I decided to find a better case. In my opinion the best cases for protecting iPhones, iPads, and iTouches, are made of soft material like silicone to give it a nice cushion if it falls. I think using a hard case or shell is not a very good idea, unless it is well cushioned inside, since it does not absorb the shock of being dropped or bumped around. You really want your phone to bounce if it falls on the ground. My personal favorite cases are by Case-Mate. I like them because they fit perfectly, look good, and protect my iPhone well.  Casemate cases  are not big and bulky like Otterbox. I have nothing against Otterbox, I have heard great things about them, I just personally prefer a small sleek lightweight case, that is easy to carry around and provides excellent protection for my iPhone. I have never had any scratches or damage on the 5 iPhones I have put in Casemate cases with invisibleSHIELD screens.

Angry Birds Halloween Costumes

Halloween is less than a month away now and I have been putting together a new Halloween costume website about Superhero Costumes. In the process of researching for my new site, I have come across lots of really fun ideas for Halloween costumes this year. I have also found some awesome deals on costumes. Out of all of the costumes that are likely to be a hit, I think that Rovio’s Angry Birds costumes are going to be to be a very big hit this year, maybe the biggest. I have to say, that baby is very adorable in the Yellow Angry Bird costume.

xx

I really enjoyed playing the Angry Birds Games on my iPhone and I think they make really great Halloween costumes. They also had an app tied to the movie “Rio” which came out earlier this year. I searched around several different costume websites and I have come to the conclusion that Costume Craze has the best variety of Angry Birds Costumes that are in stock right now, athough some of them are out of stock sometimes. They have Angry Birds Costumes For Men, Women, Boys, Girls, and Babies. The Angry Bird Costumes come in red bird, yellow bird, black bird, and the green King Pig. Some people don’t necessarily want to wear a whole costume. For everybody who wants to dress like Angry Birds this year but don’t want to wear a full costume there there is good news, they also have Angry Birds masks for sale. They are available in red bird, yellow bird, and the green King Pig. Right now they have a huge sale going on that is 20%-90% off of everything in the entire store just in time for Halloween.

Oct 12th Update the 20%-90% off sale has been changed to 30%-90% off everything in the entire store for a limited time.

If there is still anyone left who has not played any Angry Birds games yet, I highly recommend checking them out, just be careful because the games are a little bit addictive. The apps are available for iPhone and most other smart phones and come in both free and paid versions. If you don’t have a smartphone, that’s no problem, there is also a variety of free Angry Birds apps available on Google Chrome.

Get Paid To Watch Short Videos on Beezag

I’m always looking to find new ways to make decent money online in my spare time. I have been researching and signing up for lots of different programs lately so I can meet my goal of making a living entirely online. One of the best new sites for getting paid online that I have come across lately is Beezag. The amount you make compared to the time you spend on Beezag is amazing and you can use it with an iPhone.

At Beezag you earn money by watching short videos. In order to match your demographics to the right videos they will ask you 3 profile questions about your preferences before you can watch the videos. I just filled out all of my questions in my profile right away so I don’t see the questions anymore. You generally get a few videos to watch 2 times a day. There is a point system where 1000 points equals $1 and you need a minimum of $8 to cash out. Many of the  videos pay 250 points but some pay less, I have yet to see any that pay more than 250 points. There are also many sweepstakes that you are entered into for watching videos. Some videos pay only sweepstakes and some are a combination of points and sweepstakes. The sweepstakes prizes I have been entered into have ranged from a $50 gift certificate from Subway to an iPad 2. I got several sweepstakes entries for a 3 day Carnival Cruise in the last couple of days.

So far, I joined Beezag on March 21st and I earned 8000 points which is enough to cash out by April 1st, I also received 15 sweepstakes entries. Earning $8 in about 10 days with an investment of only a few minutes a day is a great return in my opinion. Payouts go to Paypal or you can donate them to different charities. I have found most of the videos to be quite enjoyable. The videos are mostly commercials and movie trailers but sometimes they are music videos. I have seen Lady Gaga, REM, Britney Spears and Keisha videos. The main catch is that you have to actually watch the video because there are numbers that pop up during the video and you are asked to verify them to prove you were watching.

Although I have not done it yet, when you make  a purchase from one of the advertisers you will get 5% back in the form of points on your purchase. There is also a decent referral program at Beezag. You get 10% of whatever your referrals earn. As always I really appreciate anybody signing up with my link, Thanks.

April 19th update It seems that the amount paid per video has been reduced but there are now much more videos to watch. Beezag sent me an email stating that there is a possibility of seeing 100, 250, and 500 point videos now. The majority of videos are worth 20 points and usually give a sweepstakes entry along with the points. Make sure you pay very close attention to the offers at the end of the video. I just was given a survey that took about 10 minutes and paid 1000 points. I feel it is still worth my time but I have not been earning as much as when I first started.

Updates On My Apps That Pay You

Making Money With Apps

It has been about a month and a half since I really started trying to get paid from my iPhone apps. This is an update on my progress from the various apps that pay you which I have written about so far: Field Agent, Checkpoints, Apperang, and Swagbucks. Although Swagbucks has 2 Android apps it still doesn’t have an official iPhone app yet. It seems like the longer I participate in these programs the better they get, not only am I gaining more experience at it but it seems like the companies are providing more opportunities. If you are looking for a good source of part time supplemental income I highly recommend all of these companies.

Mystery Shopping With Field Agent

Field Agent– This one is by far the most lucrative app I have used. I reached 100 points and $62.50 from 14 mystery shops by last Friday. When I cashed out it took them 2 days to put the money into my Paypal account as promised. Also they don’t charge you any fees to cash out through paypal.

My Field Agent screenshot from Friday February 4th
My Field Agent screenshot from Friday February 4th

I didn’t receive anymore jobs until today around noon. I got a push notification that said there were jobs in my area that were first come first serve. I managed to do 8 of them in a few hours bringing my total number of jobs completed to 22 and my total earnings to date up to $104.50. I can’t stress enough how easy this is to do, most jobs only take a few minutes to complete. They usually require a cell phone picture and a few questions to answer. The vast majority of jobs I have done were at Wal Mart but I have also done them at Rite Aid, Costco, and Kohl’s, as well as 2 surveys that I was able to do at home. The Field Agent app is definitely well worth the time it takes. One interesting thing I have noticed is that the employees in some stores will start being much nicer when they see you doing your mystery shops. Mystery shopping is a really great fun way to earn supplemental income and this is the best way to do it that I know of.

Paid Scavenger Hunts With Checkpoints

Checkpoints– I really think this app is the most fun. I love going around the grocery store when I am shopping to find things to scan for points. I cashed out my first 6000 points which was worth $20 in Amazon gift cards on January 17th. I was a little nervous about it because I read a few reviews in the Amazon store about people who did not receive their earnings. I received my gift cards in exactly 1 week. I believe that if you don’t violate the terms of service by doing things like posting your referral code in The App Store you will get paid. The second cashout I made was on January 24th for a $10 amazon gift card which I received within a few hours. Checkpoints seems to continuously be getting new products to scan. This app doesn’t pay as well as Field Agent but it is a great addition to use while shopping or mystery shopping. My referral Id is sodaguy it will benefit both of us if you sign up with it, thanks.

As of July 2011 Apperang no longer pays you to install apps

Apparang– This is the website that pays you to download new apps. This is not a really big earner yet but I believe it has potential. For the few seconds it takes to check when I’m syncing  my phone it’s well worth it. So far I have made a total of $3.14 with 3 referrals. I have not downloaded any paid apps yet but I probably will in the future. I have gotten some pretty cool apps from here including Groupon. One little tip I have is that even though it says free apps verify immediately sometimes it takes a few hours.  Waiting almost always does the trick rather than trying to sync the phone again. Apparang pays to Paypal immediately with no fees and a minimum $1 cashout. I really prefer to get paid to use apps rather than paying for apps. I also really like how question 27 in their FAQ clearly states that you have to use Apperang although there is no mention of what happens if you don’t 🙂

Apperang Alternatives

Since you can no longer use Apperang to get paid for downloading apps I decided to post a couple of alternatives that I have been paid by. Both of these sites offer additional opportunities besides just paid downloads. I have personally been paid by both of them.

WeReward

WeReward pays you to download apps, answer questions, buy products, and check in to stores. I have been paid $15.05 in Paypal cash from them so far in about a year. There is a $10.00 minimum cahshout and they only pay by Paypal.  There is a decent referral program that pays %10 of whatever your referrals make.

Appredeem

Appredeem pays you to rate apps that you have downloaded. They also have an app called Apptrailers that pays you to watch short videos about apps. I have been paid a total of $4.09 in Paypal cash. The minimum cash out is .15 via Paypal, they do offer other prizes such as Amazon Gift Cards, Starbucks Gift cards, ans Itunes Gift Cards at higher levels. There is sometimes a referral program that pays the referral and the referrer but it was only available on Facebook the last time I checked.

Swagbucks Get Paid To Search On Your Smartphone

Swagbucks– I decided to include Swagbucks, even though they don’t have an app yet,  because I use it on my phone all of the time and I really like it. There are so many ways to rack up Swagbucks and turn them into gift cards, cash, prizes. So far I have earned 2213 Swagbucks with 2 referrals. My first cashout was 1350 Swagbucks on February 1st worth $15 in Amazon gift cards, I just received them today. I made a second cashout a few days later but have not received it yet. I will probably have enough for 1 more $5 gift card by today or tomorrow. I believe the Amazon $5 gift cards are limited to 5 per person each month which is a bit of a bummer but oh well I can wait. I really appreciate  referrals and will be happy to answer questions and give tips to any of my referrals.

All of these companies provide great ways to make a little supplemental income using your iPhone.  Between all of them they seem to be at least paying for the monthly iPhone bill. Everyone of them has paid me exactly how and when they promised.

Apperang No Longer Pays You Cash to Install Apps on Your Apple Device

I just found this website Apperang that pays you to install apps on your Iphone, Ipad, or Ipod touch. You have to download the apps to your computer directly from the App Store then sync with your device. So far I have made $2.50 just downloading apps, it  pays directly to a verified PayPal account with a $1.00 minimum cash out. I accidentally cashed out the first time at $1.50. The payment was made quickly and without any fees. You can download both paid and free apps through Apperang, the payment is .25 cents for the free apps and .25 cents plus the cost of the app for the paid apps.

The only downsides to Apperang are the limited number of apps and occasionally an app won’t verify. I have only had 1 app not verify for me so far. Also it’s only available for Iphone users at this time.

There is also a 5% referral commission. My referral id is http://apperang.com/s/7J and I would really appreciate anyone signing up with it. Thanks.

Update As of July 2011 Apperang no longer pays you to download apps.

Checkpoints My New Favorite App!!

Make Money With Your Smartphone

For anyone that doesn’t know,  I have been trying to make a living using the internet instead of a traditional job. I have been trying lots of different things and plan to share the ones that I like. So far the best thing I have found for a little extra spending cash is a cool little app available on iPhone or Android called Checkpoints. I love Checkpoints because it pays me for doing things I already do such as visit grocery stores. It’s like a scavenger hunt finding the products and scanning them. It takes only about 15- 20 minutes to find them all if you know the store you are using and can be done easily with your normal shopping.

As of July 30,2012, I have been using Checkpoints since 2010 and I have made a total of $290 worth of gift cards from it.

Get Paid To Scan Barcodes With Checkpoints

Generally there are about 10 or so products ranging from 10 to 50 points per store depending on the type of store . Each scan you do also gives you a coin to spin the slots for bonus points with the top prize being 150,000 points. At the time of this writing I have earned 2468 points with no referrals in 6 days (scanning on 5 days) between scans and their slot game. 300 points is the minimum cash out and is worth a dollar in Amazon gift certificates. There are many other prizes available including:  iTunes gift cards, Hermes Birkin bags, Nintendo Wiis to name a few.

So far the only things that I don’t really like are that you have to wait 24 hours to scan a product again and some bar codes  can be very difficult to scan. Sometimes it is very difficult to scan in stores where the phone reception is bad. After you scan some products an advertisement pops up for that item but you can close it at anytime.

Earning Checkpoints At Home

Scan At Home

Checkpoints has introduced several new ways to earn CheckPoints at home. They now allow a scan at home feature from inside the app where you scan selected products for a coin. Make sure the only scans you do from home are the ones approved in the app,  scanning products from home that are supposed to be at the store will get you banned.

CheckPoints Mall

The CheckPoints Mall is an online marketplace that gives you a rebate in Checkpoints for buying products through their website, usually things are already discounted or have a coupon.

Checkpoints Toolbar

If you install the Checkpoints toolbar on your browser it will pay you 1 CheckPoint for each valid search. I have found this to be useful when I am close to cashing out but not quite there yet. I also prefer to install it on a browser that I’m not using so it’s there when I want it but not when I don’t.

Checkpoints Offers

Checkpoints has introduced an offer wall on their main site that features offers from Trialpay, Payment Wall, and Radium One. These are standard offers such as watching videos and signing up for product trials.

Is There A Referral Program

At this time there is a pretty good referral program that pays the referrer 150 points which is aboout 50 cents. The referral gets 300 points which is about a dollar.

If you decide to try the Checkpoints app my referral id is sodaguy.  It will provide you with 300 points at sign up instead of 200 with no referral. Thanks for using my code. Here is the link to download CheckPoints in the Apple App Store:

Checkpoints Updates

Jan 11th, 2011 – There is a new feature with the latest Checkpoints app update where you can get coins for the Checkpoints slot game by downloading free and paid apps from the app store so you don’t have to scan products to earn points. Also Kmart is no longer offering 100 points for check-ins it is now 50 points to check in to Kmart. There are many new items to scan, I am up to 5589 points as of today. I took a little time off from scanning with the holiday crowds being so big.
